Granite Recognized for Charitable Donations in Massachusetts

Rand Currier leverages over 30 years of experience in the telecom industry in his role as senior vice president of operations with Granite Telecommunications. Under the guidance of Granite's CEO Rob Hale and Rand Currier, the company strives to be a leader in philanthropy and was recently recognized as Massachusetts' second-most charitable company by the Boston Business Journal (BBJ).

Granite has been selected as part of the BBJ's Top Charitable Contributor list every year since 2009 and was ranked No. 4 in 2015 and 2016. In September, BBJ hosted its 12th annual Corporate Citizenship Awards at Fenway Park, where it was announced that Granite contributed over $20.5 million to Massachusetts-based charities in the past year. That total put them second only to Cummings Properties and its charitable foundation, which raised over $21.3 million.

The annual awards recognize companies which have contributed over $100,000 to philanthropic endeavors. The 2017 ceremony honored a record 94 companies which combined to raise over $273 million to area nonprofits. In addition to the financial contribution, Granite employees combined to donate 5,556 volunteer hours to nonprofit activities in the previous year.
