Granite to Expand Rhode Island Operations to Meet Growing Demand
Communications professional Rand Currier has served in various capacities in large telecommunications organizations. Today, Rand Currier is the COO of Granite Telecommunications, LLC.
In May 2017, Granite announced it was expanding its operations in Rhode Island by moving into a larger 23,000 square foot facility and adding 50 new jobs, predominantly in sales, leadership, technology and customer care. The communications company announced the big move after adding $100 million or more in annualized revenue growth for a sixth year in a row. The 50 new jobs will bring the company’s staff count to over 250 in the state. It is the second time in four years that the company has announced significant increases to its Rhode Island staff.
Granite continues to expand in Rhode Island owing to the numerous opportunities available for selling communications products to complex businesses and also because of the region’s highly-skilled workforce. The 50 new jobs will grow Rhode Island’s personal income, sales and corporate tax revenue by $1.8 million while increasing its GDP by $11.4 million.

Granite Adds Over 50 Jobs through Rhode Island Expansion
Drawing on over 25 years of experience in the telecom industry, Rand Currier has guided business operations for Granite Telecommunications as its COO since 2002, during which time he has helped grow the company's revenue to over $1.35 billion with no help from outside investors. Under Rand Currier's leadership, Granite continues to expand throughout the country, and it recently announced an expansion of its Lincoln, Rhode Island office.
Granite opened a Rhode Island office at Albion Crossing in December 2013, but the company has already outgrown that space thanks in part to seven consecutive years of adding over $100 million in revenue. In May 2017, the company announced it would be opening a new 23,000-square-foot building, which is triple the size of its previous location. In conjunction with the office space expansion, the company announced plans to hire at least 50 new employees in sales, leadership, tech, and customer support positions.
The announcement of the Rhode Island expansion continued a consistent growth trend for Granite. In the past year, the company has added a third office tower at its headquarters in Quincy, Massachusetts and opened a new office in Philadelphia.
